Where are your dogs located?
And why do they show up as available in my state?

Our pups are fostered in Houston, TX. Sadly, Houston has a huge overpopulation problem (too many dogs, not enough homes) so we focus on transporting dogs out of Texas to forever homes in states with fewer canines dying in shelters. This way, we not only save the dog getting adopted out-of-state, but also free up a local home for a shelter dog who doesn't have the option to travel. Don't worry that you're too far away; our dogs have traveled as far away as Alaska, Canada, and even Swittzerland!
How long does the process take?
And why hasn't anyone gotten back to me yet?

We are a super small rescue - just a few of us dedicating our lives to saving these pups. We are also a non profit, which means we are just volunteers who don't get paid. We have to have regular, full time jobs as well as our own families, dogs, foster dogs, etc. That means we don't get to respond to everyone as quickly as we'd like. We typically post a dog for adoption and accept applications for a few weeks before matching the pup to their forever family. If you haven't heard back in a month, it's safe to assume the dog was placed with another home. We wish everyone the best of luck in their search and regret that we are unable to help each dog-seeker.
Why are dogs so expensive?
And couldn't I buy a purebred for cheaper?

You absolutely can buy a purebred for cheaper if you want! Rescue dogs aren't discounted dogs...they're actually more expensive. They require additional vetting due to their state of neglect, disease, behavioral issues, etc.
